Communication Overtones Comments

Gravatar Kami,
I think you and Steve Rubel must have been on the same wavelength. He posted about the Four Ps of blogging.
Great minds . . . .?
Mike

Gravatar Well, look at that, I didn't read his this morning as I was in a big rush to get out the door for a meeting. I will add the link as an update extra. Thanks Mike.

Gravatar Wow, Kami, this is really 'deep'. No seriously: I have to admit I have never given my blogging that much thought (would this be one of the differences between Europeans and Americans: that the latter analyse and formalise more?). As far as I am concerned; my blog is a playground where I can write things, share experiences, or just post silly stuff. Perhaps that, unconsciously, there are some principles doing their work. And I am convinced that a blog is/should be a reflection of one's personality (like you mentioned as well). I guess it is impossible to uphold a fake image of yourself for a very long time. That's exactly what makes blogs interesting as far as I am concerned: they are made by real people (most of the time at least ) and they tell a lot about those people. I particularly like your # 4, 5, 6 and 7 - I can really see what you're saying. I'll have to think about # 1, 2 and 3 though, at least for me personally. Or perhaps not: no formats for my blog was one of the first posts I uhm, well posted. for now, I'll just stick to that. Or maybe I'm just being plain lazy? Well: that is after all one of the aspects of my personality - enjoy being lazy every now and then .

Gravatar Great post Kami! Thanks for sharing your powerful Purpose Statement.

I'd like to print this and use it as a handout to clients with your permission.

Gravatar Serge; Your principles may be just to have fun, that's okay too. I started this blog for a purpose, namely my own education about all of this. But you might be right about the cultural differences, it shows up aroung my household too, or maybe that is just the difference between the sexes?

Mike; Sure you can use it, it really is just derivative from Covey's 7 Habits.

Gravatar Hi, I just read your blog (a referral from another blog) and had to say I like the way you share your views. It's well written and positive. Thank you so much for sharing your perspectives.

Jan Verhoeff

Gravatar Jan; Always glad to get a positive comment, and from someone who is from Colorado (as I am as well) and has an entry about San Antonio on her blog today (where I live now) makes it even better.

I'll keep an eye on your blog too.

Take care!

Gravatar I think number 7 is really true.
--->Renew yourself. You don’t have much to offer if all you do is sit in front of a computer. We all need to renew in the areas of physical health, social networks, spiritual renewal and mental improvement. When you do this you have something new and interesting to bring to the conversation.

thanks!

Gravatar Demozi; #7 is also the hardest one since we are all time crunched.

Put down the mouse and get some sunshine, it rpoduces vitamin D and is good for your brain.

Gravatar I too appreciate the great value and common sense in the Steven Covey books. I revisit them from time to time - your reminder is a timely one. Must set aside some time to revisit them and refresh myself. In that light #7 is most important. My main blog (one of three)is about birding. I can't sit in front of the computer and have something to write about. I must get out in the field actually watching real live birds in order to have something interesting to write in my blog! Getting out in the Australian bushland sure blows out the cobwebs!

Gravatar I too like #7, and I try to do it as often as possible. Thanks for your comments.

Gravatar HI kami,

What i like about the pro blogger project, is that it helps me refresh the 7 habits, and see some of them applied in peoples lives.

I always rated that in my top 3 books of all time!

Your take on Habit 2, is very helpful, Being involed in so many diciplines it's very difficult to blog on topic!, blogging from values is a much better Idea!

thank you.

Gravatar Hi Kami:
I just read this blog by chance and wanted to know if you have the time to scan my blogs and give me an overview. I don't have money to pay but I assure you that your good deed will be appreciated. I started blogging with a highly personal outlook and somehow veered into a more global one with the interaction. Is that something to encourage or avoid?

Gravatar Although this is a fairly old topic I still found it interesting. I read Covey's book, "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and found it very insightful. Its very interesting that you found a way to incorporate it into blogging. Since, I'm new to the world of blogging I definitely could use all the helpful information I can get. Thanks for the pointers.

Gravatar Great insights. I host a blog for the Emerging Woman Entrepreneur (35-55 year old females) and the information you provide here will definitely benefit them. I will be sure to tell them about you.

Blogging has been such a joy to me and I simply love it. It gives me connection, feedback, insights, and an opportunity to show myself and my values to the world. How cool is that, right?

Together, we are stronger!

Gravatar Kami,

I can attest that you truly live by the principles and values of your mission statement.

It's through you that I discovered PR's economy of giving. The gifts of giving are phenomenal; but so are you, Kami!!

Your genuine spirit is refreshing. I'll share your blog with your other fan; Sister Walter Maher.

Keep up the good work.

Randy

Gravatar Randy;

Wow, you found this old post It is indeed what I am trying to do. You are pretty much a natural to the giving bit, so I am sure that you did this yourself.
