Gravatar I agree that organizations with "logical and tasteful tie-ins" to the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath should utilize this time to gain media attention. However, I also believe that this is a very touchy subject and that organizations and companies should approach the issue as ethically and tactfully as possible. It would be very easy for a company to be viewed as taking advantage of the hurricane situation in order to gain media attention.


Gravatar Stephanie; Your note of caution is well taken. I agree that those who don't take heed could end up on the Bad Pitch blog, and worse, in the spotlight of a rightfully jeering public, which isn't exactly a winning proposition.
