For me, the key is learning to say \"no\" so that I don't overload my schedule. Not carrying an always-on mobile phone is also a great help. Clients can leave a message on my office line and I will get back to them in 2 hours. A good friend of mine just had his 4 year old have to go in for heart surgery to repair a hole that has never closed up. The child is doing fine and a complete recovery is expected. I've done a few things to improve work/life balance--the one that seems to have made the most difference is cutting out most television. I used to have shows that were \"can't miss\" those led to others, and then others...it's amazing what getting back that time at night can do.<br><br>News I get online, along with weather. Not much need for the rest, giving me time to read, walk the dog, talk with the SO, etc. Balance.
