Communication Overtones Comments

The Social Media Release Working Group is making damn good progress toward this goal, thanks to Shannon's leadership and input from folks like Jeff McNeill and Jason Ryan. I'm really pleased with how far we've taken Todd D.'s original template.

With Shannon at the helm I have no doubt that these goals will be met. I am excited to be in this business at this time. I don't know the others personally, but I know the group is working hard and adding features all the time.

Thanks to all. The comments mean a lot to me, and yes, Jeff and Jason are an invaluable part of the team.
The interesting thing is that I'm working on hRelease now, but PRX (http://purl.org/prx/1.0/) has been around for over a year with similar functionality. You're the PR experts, you'll have to explain it to me one of these days. This will probably be an interesting case study in a few years.

Kami-
The Ford SMR was fun to see. I loved how easy it was to navigate and that you could see pictures and videos. This topic is definitely running parallel to the things that Robert has been teaching us. I’m glad that PR tools are going a more digital route because it’s more comfortable to me. How long do you think it will take for everyone to catch on? As entry level PR practitioners, will we be expected to understand how SMRs work and put them together?

Kami,
We have been learning more about SMRs in Robert's class and he actually showed us the Ford SMR yesterday. I think it is great because you can incorporate so much information into a social media release that you might not be able to include in other forms. The pictures and videos add so much appeal to the product, especially for the automobile industry. I think as young PR practitioners we will be preparing these SMRs in the future, so I am excited to see that what we are learning as students will give us an advantage in our jobs after graduation.
