Nice post, old friend! I have felt your pain. In fact, I have had several midlife moments already... which I've managed to survive!
One habit I've gotten into is keeping a notebook (like a Moleskine or similar) of running blog ideas so that, during the dry spells, I have lots of fodder. Nothing worse than *knowing* that you've had an inspired half-dozen ideas in the past, only to find that, when it comes time to actually write them, you can't remember a one!!

Ann; What a great idea. I used to file them electronically, but who looks back at that. Also, some of those "ideas" should never see the light of day anyway. LOL

Nice idea. Moleskin's generally a big hit w/ bloggers. For digital version Google Notebook is a great idea.
