Communication Overtones Comments

Gravatar It's well, well deserved, Kami. You helped bring the PRSA out of the dark ages when it comes to social media, and as a fellow APR (and friend), I am forever appreciative for that. My presentation advice: wait till AFTER to get drunk. Congrats!

Gravatar You have been my virtual mentor the past two years. Through your grace, you taught me the principles you speak of in your speech. You encouraged me to get involved. Thank you.

Gravatar (applauds...)

Gravatar Congratulations, my friend!

Gravatar Kami thanks for posting your speech. It's especially timely for me way over here in the Isle of Man. I've in a bit of a dark mood lately workwise and you've reminded me about why I started this thing up in the first place.

Congrats! And good luck in Houston.

Gravatar I have been humbled by the reaction to this speech, both here in comments and also offline. I think that in giving is the true key to happiness, yet we all (me especially) get caught up in the details of life and forget that.

Thanks to Scott for being a great friend and literally the first person to ever link to me, Lauren for her willingness to go the extra mile, Ike for being a brilliant mind and friend, Andrea for continuing to let me into her world, and Sherrilynne for quite possibly being my longest suffering reader (and that doesn't mean age). I appreciate you all.

Gravatar Congratulations, Kami! Thanks for all the help you gave me and for asking the right questions.

And Godspeed. We'll also be in Houston soon and hope to cross paths with you again in the "real" world.

Gravatar This blog really reached out to me the second I saw the Dr. Seuss picture at the top. My mom bought that book for me and my two brothers when we each graduated high school and went off to college. And now she buys it for every high school graduate we know. She thinks it sends a big message even though it was written for a younger age. She’s right, people need to think of what’s ahead of them and not just stop at where they are now.
You’re comment on people declining into stagnation once they believe they have arrived really resonates in me. You’re absolutely right. People need to change with the tides and that’s the only way to arrive (although never actually arriving!). The three life principles are how all people should live their lives. Constantly learning and adapting; being open to other people and their ideas is such a great way to grow; and giving without expecting shows great love that we all should be so lucky to experience. Congratulations on your award.

Gravatar As I often tell people, I want to be you when I grow up (professionaly speaking). You've always been generous with your time, advice, and comfort. Thanks for all you have done for PRSA San Antonio and all those who have worked with you in any capacity.

You are a rock star, my friend!
