Gravatar I think the main flaw with the review is -- why bother? Who doesn't know Iron Maiden? And if you don't, Pitchfork is not the place to learn about it. Are they gonna try and review every album now?

It makes almost as much sense as the one reviewer's love of mainstream gangsta hip-hop. Why do you review Game, much less make it an essential? Seriously, people.

Gravatar Yeah, exactly- that was one of the feelings I was getting- what is their audience for that review? The guys that are into Japanese spaz-core? And why review a greatest hits, unless it is some sick joke? They always hate retrospectives anyway, because they take away from the various albums, and are never complete, and to review a greatest hits package from a band that has a minimum of 5 hits packages??? WHy this one? And Maiden has had aminimum of 3-4 albums out since Pitchfork has been around, why no mention? Why no mention of metal at all? Usually they will review a heavy album to make fun of it, or a novelty like Andrew WK (that review was GENIUS). It just was a complete nadir for them.
