All of this talk about colostemy bags reminds me a story a friend of mine, an M.D. once told concerning a rare case he happened on once in the E.R. It's pretty gross, and I don't want to go into the whole thing right now, but let me leave you with this: Herpetic Stoma.
I can picture it almost. Holy crap that sounds gross.
It that like a chancre that goes all the way through?
Think about where someone might have herpes. Now think of what one needs in one's side in order to have a colestomy bag (the stoma). Now think of where one may put one's herpetic region so that it "fits" with the other's stoma. From that image, imagine how one might end up with herpes on one's stoma.
It's much grosser than you thought.
*uncontrolled projectile vomiting*
