I would like to say one word about both the Tunisian and the Saudi teams:
I don't like the idea that these two teams play in the world cup,specially the Saudi team. do you know why ?? Cuz they are not well prepared, and they will never be prepared! they just come to lose, and leave! They should be prepared, at least to play in a decent way. everybody will eventually lose, and one team will make it, but it's not about losing or winning, it's about playing in a decent way.
Karin...it sounds like you are having quite the time of it in the midst of the World Cup festivities! I remember attending the Bulgaria-Argentina match during the 1994 World Cup here in the U.S. Just watching the gung-ho fans before the match was a tremendous treat. The passion and exuberance of the Argentine faithful was infectious.
I'm hopeful that the U.S. side will come out with a better effort against Italy than they did vs. the Czechs. I'll be watching on Saturday.

You know, you have a point here! When I was busy reading I thought .. "hey - why's he saying that?" .. but there is indeed something to it! It is the principle, not specifically these two teams .. who I REALLY enjoyed here! The world cup is about the best - chosing the very best - but fact remains, they legally qualified and this is why they participated!
On a personal basis I have to admit, I did SO MUCH enjoy to see those BIG red-white flag and green banner with bismillah and the sword flying at a whole number of places - it simply was and is still a GREAT sight!! I love the fact as well they were and still are here ... as people, I love to host them! I had very much missed to see more Saudi fans at that day, but the Tunesian ones were out of this world!! It is just sooooo sad, I don't have a reader from Tunesia ...

It won't be an easy game for the U.S. today but at least they won't have to play during the heat of the last days - it cooled off and the game is only at 21:00 local time! I'll be crossing my fingers ...
