Actually, have you ever given Vegas a try? Margaret and I thought we would hate it, but ended up having a blast at Mick & Adam's wedding back in 2001. (And that was before we learned how to play poker.) Seriously, you can have fun there without ever gambling. It's like Disneyland for adults. Go with a friend who knows what to do. And definitely go see Cirque de Soleil, even though they're godawful expensive.

As for Vegas, I have been there, many years ago. That's actually a blog post in itself. I have no aversion to going, I'm just a history and nature geek, so Vegas, with its manufactured Disney fun for adults, does not appeal as much as, say, Istanbul, with its grotty history and bazaars. and the Bosphorus, of course..
