Yay! Congrats on getting the surgery. You should get a pair of faux glasses to celebrate.
My girlfriend wears contacts and I would love for her to get this surgery, if only so I don't have to poke her to take them out when she falls asleep with them in. And sure, for all the other reasons like dry eyes and irritation.
Congratulations! That was a very brave undertaking! I've been wanting to do the same thing for years, but I've put it on my wish list for the future.
