Hmmm, I grew up in Singapore and I miss the food. It's perhaps the most important part of our culture.

Sounds like a great trip, although not sure how I'd react when coming across the Thaipussam celebration. Ouch.
What I neglected to mention, was that at the end of the parade, we had the opportunity to watch the devotees take the stuff out. No one really wanted to, as maybe you can imagine.
I've been to Singapore too, and the only place I could remember is Pasir Ris 'cause the other places is hard to memorize like Jurang Gurang whatever. And then, the MC1 sound in the trains is euphony, it kept playing and playing in my mind for some time while I sleep. There is a really interesting zoo for nocturnal animals. And then I've laughed so much when some of my buddies got lost because for them the sound of places are the same. There was a construction of a new railway path, was it done yet?
