Hi Kate and thanks for leaving a comment. I live in Western Massachusetts. You said you grew up in New England..where here?

Gravatar Ewe. I know the feeling. I just bought an airline ticket to come to your party. Once I threw a party and 3 people said they had other parties to go to. Two said it was their Grandpa's B- Day... hmmm... how odd. !!!!!

Gravatar i hate to say it (and i know you don't want to hear it), but people are selfish. always are and always will be. just have fun with those who can make the time and make the best of it. then...time to move on and look forward to the new chapter in your life...and believe me, HK is a good chapter. teachers always have a good time here (i speak from experience)

Gravatar LOL Thanks Cori...I'll try to make the party worth every one of those 120,000 pennies you're sure to spend. I'll be sure to buy you a beer, anyways.

And thanks for your words, G.

Gravatar here's what you need to do..

tell everyone that a friend of yours (who is a really cute male stripper) is coming, with a few of his buddies after a show...then also hint that your friend has hinted that they are up for giving you a free show as a leaving present..

in the meantime, rearrange the venue of your party to another location..tell your *real* friends of the new location

on the night of the do, leave a note pinned to your door (or wherever the party was originally supposed to be at) giving a vague location as to the new location of the party (remember, the more vague, the better!)

then see how many people suddenly change their mind and make the effort to find out where your party is.

and then when they eventually arrive, you tell them that your stripper buddy couldn't make it, and smile inwardly to yourself at the amount of messing around that they have put themselves through for something which isn't going to happen.

then remember that they are feeling exa

Gravatar then remember that they are feeling exactly the same way that you are feeling now...let down.

it's a lesson well learned, and it's fun to watch it being learned!

dunno why that last bit got cut off?

hope you have a good leaving do!

Gravatar Hey Kate - thanks for leaving comments in my reviews blog! Next time you come to Singapore the beer's on me.

Hope your move to HK goes off smoothly - I know it's weird when you stare at an empty apartment and realise your whole life can be packed into a few suitcases.

Gravatar Just to tell ya', babe-you are far from leaving everything behind you. You won't know it, but it sneaks up on you-I thought I had left everything behind in Sweden, too, but sometimes all of a sudden I am struck with a memory of something I saw, or did, or learnt, or laughed at, and I remember that I packed up Sweden and took it with me.

It sounds so lame and so "I'm OK, You're OK", but it's true.

On to your next adventure now, eh Sweetie?

Gravatar Kate:

I don't know you and you don't know me, but I like what I've seen of your weblog. You write well and I enjoy reading your entries.

That said, hang in there. *I* would come to your party if I could, but I'm going to be in America. (Just like every other day of my life, for the most part, save a week I spent in Vancouver.)

You're not alone!!

Gravatar Hey Kate, thanks so much for commenting on my blog, because now I've found your blog, and it is wonderful! As James said, you're not alone!! You've got lots of cyberfans out here, and you'll meet new people in HK. I wish I could taxi you around in my cybercar to help out. Here's hoping the rest of your stay is easier. You'll have to blog as soon as you get set up in HK and let us know how it went, 'k?

Gravatar OK, South Korea is on my nuke list now. Without you there, what is the point in it even existing?
