You know, I think in college my friends didn't hug either. But since then (law school and now that I'm working) my friends and I hug all the time. I like hugs.

i'm a huggy person myself. My parents instilled it in us..pretty rare for asian parents.

The cool aloof persona seems to the major put off at my end... hugs are sparse among my friends (not so within the family) even though we've been taught greeting with a hug is better than just a handshake.
