If the book feels wrong then chuck the book. You seem sensible enough from your blog to know if a thing feels right it usually is and conversly if it feels wrong then run.
Is it fear of unknown change or just the wrongness of it that is getting to you?

Gravatar I guess it's mainly the fear of really taking a hard look at myself and seeing how others have affected me and by turn this is how I affect others.
I think the book may be helpful but I also think it'll be a hard road to go down but in the end worth it.
Thanks Dom.

Gravatar I don't know what problems you're having, Kate (other than relationships that went sour), but there's nothing terrible about you that needs a high degree of fixing. At least, I never thought so. What is it that you're facing? I understand how people get screwed up by bad childhoods (everyone in our gang in high school had firsthand experience of that), but you're a very strong person, brave enough to leave the country on your own and not falling into the trap of becoming someone else's dependent. You have more courage than anyone I know.

So--I don't want to downplay your problems without knowing what that word beginning with "c" is--but maybe you're seeing a huge flaw in yourself that's actually a minor thing. Lots of great women have trouble finding a decent man. As they get older and remain single, they get depressed, and think there's something wrong with them, but there really isn't. The problem (in my humble opinion) is that there's a dearth of decent men. The problem isn't you.

Gravatar uh hum.....I think you'll find there are some men out there who are decent and in plentiful supply....good luck Kate

Gravatar And I'm not ever going to stop believing that, Scott, don't worry.

Gravatar I think that's the nature of attempting to mend things, sugar. Sometimes you do more harm than good. But if you never try to rectify things then everything would remain broken. So keep trying to mend things; it'll work out more often than not.
