I have to say that is how I am looking at this situation.
I have never ascribed to the theory that you only have one soul mate in your life. It's less like a jigsaw puzzle than driving directions. There's not one solution for your being single, but many paths to get where you want to go.
Sure, I agree no one has just one soul mate. But I think different people have certain types they are attracted to. But then again, a few months down the road, I may find myself pleasantly surprised. So who knows?
It kind of sucks when you meet a really great guy and he already has a girlfriend. So many women go through all the trials and tribulations of trying to "steal him" away. I don't get it. Usually, the guy's loyalty and sweetness is most of what makes him so appealing in the first place! If he's able to be lured away, he's not all that unique, right?
