Into the Wild is a good book. I read this years ago when I was living in the Caribbean. "very intelligent, but also stubborn in their idealism, and enthusiasm for an idea" describes my own outlook with a dose of skepticism. Beauty and peril often go together. It is important to be aware and to account for risks.

I remember being vaguely like that too when I was younger and to an extent I still am. I guess lucky for my family, I'm not much of the outdoorsy type.

really good book. One of my English teachers gave it to me as a graduation present in high school. The dude was a bit warped.

A bit warped, yes, but like I said, I know I went to university with a whole bunch of these guys, the affluent hippie type.
