Why are you drawn to LA? Not clear on your attraction to the place.
I personally found the hardest part to adjust to was financial. Not in the sense of supporting yourself, but having to actually watch my spending. Saving in Korea wasn't too difficult; here I have to make sacrifices in order to do so. It sucks, but such is life.
Of course if you can hook yourself up with a job with a nice salary, then that adjustment wouldn't be so difficult. Not to state the obvious or anything.

I'm drawn to the L.A. area because of its weather for one thing, and the fact that it'd be pretty much a short by comparison flight out there (I'm from Boston, but hate the idea of a 20+ hour flight!) but the main thing is that I already have a friend here which would make acclimating to this place much easier than if I knew no one I think. (I already tried that in D.C. Don't want to do that ever again really.)

I'm just the opposite. I'm from L.A., but have always wondered what it'd be like to live in Boston for a spell.

If I still lived there, Mojo, we could do a house swap!

I'm actually going back to visit Boston in exactly a week. Maybe I should check up on your old house, eh?
