Frequency clear. Go ahead.

Gravatar LOL! it's like you are reading my mind with this here!

I also found myself thinking, "the chatty teenagers beside me are getting much more out of this than I am."

I also thought "ahaha, they are in front of a cosmetics retailer, and shit, wouldn't I hate to be caught running from my doom in 3" heels like Lily?"

Gravatar yeah pax, yes and again yes.

Gravatar Your coworker is not too old. There is no such thing. You can tell her I said so.

'The idea of living an un-YouTube-worthy life is a the real underlying fear.'

I hope every single second of my existence to live an un-YouTube-worthy life. It's a goal for me.

So far, so good.

Gravatar No such thing as too old.

One love to your formerly buzznetting co-worker. I hope she doesn't let the bastards keep her down.

I love the way you picked this movie apart.

Gravatar What the fuck? Too old?

My problem with Cloverfield, with repeated viewings, was that I felt that fake, uninteresting Brooklyn hipster wasn't exploited enough. I have a feeling Drew Goddard chose that group for people like you and I who could never possibly relate to the plastic perfection of indie-parties blasting the Gorillaz and New Order. He then takes a group of people who so often are far away from trauma and pain and tears them apart. The film was originally a hard-R, but Paramount, in their "commitment to artistic purity," forced the film down to a PG-13 in editing. Obviously to make money.

Your view is pretty spot on. Maybe I'm older than most of the people who love the movie, but I still feel 12 in my head most of the time. I love a good monster flick.

Gravatar Holy shit!!! That was the best bit of writing I've run into in a while.

You had me at "The heart of Cloverfield"...
