Yeah, you know, nothing amazes me anymore.
People speak of the U.S. ideals and how we "used" to have them. The U.S. never had ideals of their constitution. They had ideals of creating wealth at any cost.
I wonder if folks dig back in Olympic history, that it never really was about peaceful relations amongst nations, but a money making scheme for the ultra elite? Inquiring minds want to know.

yes racism is nothing new in the Olympics.
I heard you talk about this on your show, so I thought you may be interested in this.
A new book by radical sports writer has Dave Zirin has just come out.
It’s called ‘Welcome to the TerrorDome, the pain, politics and promise of sports’, with a foreword by Chuck D.
In Chapter 6 Zirin deals with the Olympics including a guy named Avery Bundage, who as president of the IOC in 1936 went to meet with Hitler- to quash a rising din of protest, then coming back to the US to say how well Jews were being treated in Germany!.
This is a great book which takes on the racism surrounding the relentless attacks on Barry Bonds, the bigotry of Don Imus and the racism in the NBA
I saw Zirin speak in Chicago during the summer along with Dr John Carlos (remember the 1968 Olympics and the two black athletes giving the clenched fist when receiving their medals). They were both great and Zirin writes about those Olympics as well.
You don’t see many left wing sports writers around so it’s worth checking out
