"Things" are starting to get "interesting" to say the least !
Sorry if I keep poppin up in your comment section, it's just that people with an opinion such as yours are rare and it inspires me.

Premise Fifteen

Gravatar Since many things start out as ideas and visions, I think you both are doing a great job at destroying the foundation of this present dominant society (civilization) which has a stronghold in the minds of the people.

Take care

Gravatar Thanks, Misko....which is a name I might have seen on a forum somewhere before....wink-wink...is that you?

Gravatar Thanks Misko. I like it when folks comment on my blog. I really like it when some lively conversation happens.

I Love you Shusli, and I Love the work we do together, besides the work we do for a living.

"Love does not imply pacifism." Big thanks to Derrick Jensen.

I remember hearing of a mother during some riots in LA, I believe, fighting her way through a gang of thugs with a broom stick to save her daughters life, which she did. I'd stand and fight beside and with someone like her...AND YOU...before I would any Gandhi quoting pacifist jerk.

Like the video's of the WTO conference in Seattle, you see pacifists beating the shit out of folks to protect corporate property. Pacifists are usually not PHYSICALLY VIOLENT, the bear violence in other forms, and it us usually lateral violence instead of violence directed at those the claim to be opposing.

Gravatar Eugene
KBOO needs you. You could record your show and KBOO could call you live. It's not the same without you, you had the best show on KBOO had the Fire Man.

Gravatar Hi All,

Hi Shusli, yes same Misko as on the other site.

Eugene, you mentioned; "Can you feel the tension in the air."
Well, recently a few events occured in our lives - my wife Danielle and I - and we take them as signs showing us to get the hell out of the city.

We've only been here for 9 months, and though we weren't planning on staying here more than one more year...Well plans have now changed.

I'm not certain why we need to leave now, but we're leaving. I/we've been thinking about the possible reason(s) why we must go and perhaps it has something to do with the growing global food and oil crisis, and the unending wars and most likely more to come...Also we live in a city where there are a military base, a military college, another base about 25 minutes from here and we're smack in the middle of the economic center of this province, so...as Arsenio Hall used to say, "things that make you go hmmmmm...!" Might as well put a neon sign saying "Hit right here!".

O.K. Take Care !
Misko

Gravatar Hey Richard! Richard? Which Richard are you? The engineer Richard?

Shusli and Felicia both have asked if I'd be going back to KBOO should we return to the area, which may or may not happen. Shusli and I have been discussing the possibility of moving back to the area next spring, but we are also discussing many other opportunities. I know that if I came back, I would have to go through the whole process all over again and may not even get back on the air. I've been hearing how things are going there.

Hey Misko! Good to know you and Shusli know each other. We live in the burbs here in Coos Bay. It's a weird energy, but there are things I was expecting to see that I haven't in this area. Not so much racism as I thought there would be. In fact, I experienced more racism in Portland.

We're discussing getting out of town, possibly a rental with some space. There is definitely a crunch coming. Even some of the folks whom I never would have imagined thinking that way in this area are talking about it. There are businesses closing all over the area. It's all exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Gravatar Yes, I think more people should arm and protect their minds so they can discern who the real ennemies are...

BTW, I liked your comment on my blog!

On a much lighter note and completely off-topic, I looked up Coos Bay, Oregon on the net and if it's situated on the 101, I probably hitch-hiked thru it in the summer of 85 with my cousin.

The initial goal was California and live there, but it didn't work out that way.

I particularly liked Oregon because it seemed to me at the time that it was still a little more wild looking than alot of other places I'd seen.

I looked on the Oregon map to see if I could remember which state park(s) we slept at, but can't remember.

Travel Well !

Gravatar Yes indeed, Coos Bay is on 101.

I didn't become a Rage Against the Machine fan until recently, but I liked what Tommy Morello's guitar had written on it: "Arm the Homeless." That would balance the scale of things a bit.

Gravatar I think that as things get economically worse for the average citizen they will begin to see the irrationality of capitalism. If you look at the great depression there was a lot of great activism that occurred. Every time I hear about gas prices rising, I don't get upset because I know that this will be a catalyst for change that will ultimately benefit not only the planet but humankind.

Gravatar KBOO is not the same without you. You are missed!

Gravatar When I was a kid so many years ago, I used to think from time to time that this system, this civilization, was incapable of lasting because the resources required to maintain it aren't all renewable and require a lot of damage to the environment. But these thoughts weren't so prevalent. More fleeting and trying to understand the world as it is.

I get kinda excited seeing gas prices rise. Not that I want folks to suffer and lose their businesses, but because it raises people to an awareness that their alleged freedom isn't as free as they thought. They don't get to control their rate of pay nor their food or gas prices. Someone else, usually a corporation, has control over that.

Thank you Richard and Dee for your comments. But even if we do make it back to Portland, I don't think I will necessarily get any airtime due to the odd process they are now following which, to an extent, makes sense, but it also cuts into listenership and what listeners want.

Gravatar I hear you. I don't want to see people suffer either, but this present dominant so called way of life isn't viable.

Anyway, it never prevented people from suffering...on the contrary...suffering seems to be what it's all about. Only the ones at the very top of the food chain - the ruling crass - benefit from this madness. And I wouldn't want to walk even two steps in their shoes.

It seems that ALOT of people think that our ancestors (the ones B.C.- before civ) lived a miserable life hunting, fishing, gathering, etc. I think that's total bullshit. First, I'd say; do you see that many happy faces around you and all over? Hmmm...! Second, I know without a doubt that our "free and uncivilized" ancestors were REALLY alive ! How can I assert this? Personal glimpses of such experiences, and also because my whole being screams that it is so, and I trust that!

I'm sorry for stating what you already know probably better than me. But what I'm trying to say is that, I think if people realized that the ancient ways were WAY better, smarter, happier, FREER than this present modern crap, they might really reconsider. Perhaps not a large proportion of the present population but some anyway. I think.

Gravatar The more I think I know, the less I realize I know. It is always good to have a discussion about these things.

I remember thinking when I was a kid that this was the end all be all of the world. When I grew up was when I realized that this is a crazy place. I wondered what life was like not only here prior to alleged civilization, but all over the world. Paris was a natural beauty before it became the huge sprawling city it is.

I remember seeing all the BS in school about how we allegedly lived prior to civilization. Then, when actual studies were done...prior to civilization folks worked 20 hours a week to get what the needed.

A good visual example of this is Indian life Celilo falls. Hardly any alcoholism, lots of happy Indians living simply and happily with the salmon people. Then along comes the genocidal dam...lots of alcoholism, lots of obesity, lots of misery.
