Gravatar They won't let people smoke on flights, so why let them abuse other passengers with outrageous behavior? Whether from a kid or a drunk (and I've seen plenty of both on planes), it's not acceptable.

Gravatar Absolutely. Any situation where you are basically locking people into a confined space, where they have absolutely no choice whether to get up and walk out, requires a higher standard. While they are better (or at least more nervous) about letting questionable adults fly, it's way past time that the entire rest of the passengers don't have to spend an hour or six or ten being party to a tot's tantrum.

Gravatar Oh, just wait until you're a parent.

Those "that will never be my kid" have a way of biting you in the ass, lol.

Gravatar Whoops, hit send too quickly...

But yes, you're right. People have odd ideas of what other people are willing to put up with. And the flight attendant began distributing kids???!!!! How is that even allowed, never mind a yelling kid? I'm glad you still like children. That would be enough to sour me for a good long time.

Gravatar And just to clarify, I'm reprimanding myself in my first comment. I never thought I'd be the one with the kid making the fuss. I try my best to stop it and 99% of the time I do a good job. But my own words did come back to haunt me.

Tantrums aside, the plane can't be held up. That's the long and short of it.

Gravatar I'm glad someone finally had the nerve to tell the parents that they've had enough. Parents stand around and let their little monsters wreck everything in site and just ignore it. I for one tell them to make the kid mind or leave. I've had them do both;;; Usually they make them mind. They just want you to make the decision. They're afraid of their kids and the kids know it.

Gravatar I tip my hat to AirTran. I will fly them whenever possible. They are not a day care center, nor are the rest of the passangers exected to endure the results of bad parenting. It seems the surveys are 90% in favor of the airline.

Gravatar If parents instilled a little respect and dicipline in their children these things wouldn't happen. I just flew from Atlanta to LAX with a small child, and my child was well behaved and quiet the whole time because he knew there would be .....(oh no) consequences if he were bad. I have 3 children and 3 step children and not 1 of my children would have dreamed of acting up like this child. The lack of respect for parents and others is what's wrong with our society today.
