Walking Circumspectly

Gravatar GREAT POST. Man am I tired of seeing Christians fall for the whole "angel" thing. Not that angels aren't real, or awesome, but they are NOT pretty women with feathery wings OR chubby babies (which I think are actually based on the pagan Cupid kind of idea, but I'm not sure). Thank you, Raphael, for that misconception. And they're not at our beck and call, and I don't imagine they think it's very clever when gullible elderly women (**cough**GRANDMA**cough**) wear shiny little "angel" pins on their lapels.

Anyway. Great job, as usual.

Gravatar Thanks, Rach. Yeah, you've got to wonder just how offensive those images are to the Lord...

Gravatar This was a great post. I get tired of seeing such a glorification of angels. Beautiful female and chubby baby angels really annoy me. Rachel is right - those baby angels are based on Cupid.

Gravatar SELF-esteem SELF-image SELF-worth, I wonder how offensive these IMAGES are to the Lord?
It seems to me that images that are mental, are somes more difficult to see come crashing down than those made out of metal.

Gravatar Kristen - What a wonderful post. I love reading your blog - I learn, but even more than that I'm pointed back to scripture. I might as well keep my Bible beside me while I point and click b/c I know I'm going to need it

Gravatar Yes, Richard, those are certainly images that offend the Lord, too! And very prevalent in our culture.

Shannon, IMO that is one of the best things you could tell me. PTL. It's all about getting pointed back to the WORD--not the opinions of man (or wo-man, hehe).

Gravatar That was a wonderful post, Kristen. :o ) It is was very refreshing!

Gravatar Thanks, Jenna!

Gravatar Kristen, I always take new thoughts or assurance from your posts. Thanks!

Gravatar Superb post Kristen. It is useful for a lot of people. Great work.

Gravatar Hey! I just saw this post in the featured section, very good article. I remember seeing that woman on talk shows and just cringing back when I was first married.

there is an allure in contacting the spirit world, and a sense of control maybe? But in truth, like you said, Demons are ready to take advantage. I think its fair to say that any spirit you contact like that is an evil one.

I'm glad you mentioned those people who go after demons and claim to be casting them out in the name of Jesus. After going that route just a little in an effort to cleanse our own lives (have you heard of Neil Anderson's books? We tried to follow his 12 step method) and finding more and more spiritual affliction as the result, we realized that the only safe way to deal with affliction in one's life is to go solely to Jesus Christ and Him only. One is only safe under the canopy of prayer to the Almighty.

What a dangerous game these people are playing who listen to Sylvia Brown!

Thanks for placing this article in the featured posts section, I'm glad I got a chance to read it. (the scriptures were very confirming as well).
