Jeffrey, have you ever tried to farm here (in Dallas)? In 2005, 18.97 inches of rainfall was recorded at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. In 2004, 47.57 inches. In 2003, 24.55 inches. As of today (August 23, 2006), 16.58 inches of rain has been recorded, and by now the growing season is over for most crops.
Have you ever tried to farm in these circumstances? With or without irrigation? What crop(s) do you grow? Can you store the harvest without refrigeration or air conditioning? I can?t (exceptions are onions and rice).
Why would the mainstream media explain peak oil to the public? The only thing keeping the banks solvent is real estate. What?s going to happen to real estate once people figure out that they can?t possibly feed themselves on the average-sized residential lot in Dallas?

OK, production has dropped. Is it because they can't pump it or won't?
