Great entry. I was at the Jazz and Heritage Festival in '94 and saw Thompson there also(at least I'm guessing that's where you met him). I was far too awed to go up and start a conversation. I just thought I'd stand 10 feet back and watch other people talk to him while excitedly squeaking to my wife "Holy shit - that's Hunter S. Thompson!"

My god, it is a small world! I'll be posting that column I wrote back in '94 soon as I can figure out where the file is at, it was definitely a strange trip. I think I'm still sunburned from waiting in line that day, 11 years ago. Ack.
