Congrats! I'm sure you can see what us "old timers" were talking about when we said, "it gets easier the longer you're here." In a way, you're now that offering such sage advice, too, through your blog.
Interestingly, I never ran across the sort of anti-American stuff you mentioned—what I found were attitudes I shared. But I still had some odd things to educate Kiwis about.
