Gravatar I was at gig last night and trawling for reviews, hence seeing this. Nice writing mate, and a nice little review. I'd seen em once in London c.2002 and then in England at a festival last year. Stunning both times (but in a very dark way the first occasion). This was more celebratory. Amazing the way Tweedy manages to force the crowd to willingly stand in sheer silence through force of personality alone. Is there a more talented set of pop musicians out there at the moment? I doubt it.

Gravatar Ditto for the above. I also saw them in London circa 2001-2002, and yeah - darker. On Sunday I was standing at the very front with Nels on my left and Jeff on my right - completely blew me away! Great to see them so relaxed and having fun. Is there a better live band? I've also been a huge fan since Uncle Tupelo, but in no way would describe them as run of the mill - they blew jayhawks et al out of the water.
