Saturday Night Fever is far darker and more generationally insightful
than the disco fluff I thought it would be, and Travolta is great in it.
Scarface is also dark, with a good bit of chilling, chainsaw-based blood letting to set you on edge early
in the story. Great character work from Pacino in the years before he got all shouty, and a nice reinterpretation /
update of the rise and fall story introduced in 1932 - I can't decide who's nastier in the main role though - Paul
Muni's pretty damned despicable... as Tony Camonte, and of course, Howard Hawkes...
