It's interesting to note that the United States of America has, as of January 19 2005 at 5:09:32, a national debt of $7,613,086,306,725.26. Yes, that's right - Seven Trillion Six Hundred Thirteen Billion Eighty Six Million Three Hundred Six Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Five Dollars and Twenty Six Cents.
That figure is astounding, but why should anyone really care about that? Well, since there are an estimated 295,360,211 people in the US today, each person owes $25,775.60.
If that ain't bad enough, in 2005 $208 billion is allocated to pay the interest accrued on that massive debt. That's just the interest - it's like paying the minimum balance due each month on your credit card, and it comes out to $208 billion.
How much money would we have saved in the long run if Bush nixed his tax cuts and spent that money in paying off the principal of that grand ol' loan?

Remember way back when, when Bush was using the economy as one of his strong points on the stump? He claims his tax cuts stimulated the economy and created jobs. Lemme tell ya some'n: Clinton created jobs, raised taxes and left office with a surplus treasury.
Remember even furthur back when Bush said that he was gonna run this country like a dad-burned business? Well, Mr. "Arbusto*" Bush, this here business is going bankrupt.
*: Arbusto was Bush's oil exploration company he started back in the 1970s, ran into the ground and sold for millions and directorship of his buyer's company. and began to develop His pattern to reward failure undoubtedly stems from those days.
