Of course nobody in the Democratic party would wish for the Iraqis to continue living under the tyrannical boot of Saddam Hussein.
Oh, I don't know about that... He was re-building the infrastructure after our 1991 bombardment of sewage and waterplants. The women tended to have more rights under him than in many of the ME/African countries. We find that a lot of the propaganda about mass graves etc, were exaggerated. Funny thing about those mass graves.. What do you think about the bombing we did - do you think mass graves came out of that? The Highway of Death is a very interesting thing to do research on. In 1991, when they had given up and turned around from Kuwait, the Iraqis were headed back to Iraq, whoever the leader of our coalition was, had the militaries surround those people and killed, bulldozed mass graves and pushed dead and living, alike, into them. contd from above...“I want to give testimony on what are called the ‘highways of death’. These are the two Kuwaiti roadways, littered with remains of 2,000 mangled Iraqi military vehicles, and the charred and dismembered bodies of tens of thousands of Iraqi soldiers, who were withdrawing from Kuwait on February 26th and 27th 1991 in compliance with UN resolutions.
“U.S. planes trapped the long convoys by disabling vehicles in the front, and at the rear, and then pounded the resulting traffic jams for hours. ‘It was like shooting fish in a barrel’, said one U.S. pilot. The horror is still there to see.”
Report presented at the New York Commission hearing, May 11, 1991.

Sounds like Republicans really really really like using Straw Man arguments (which turn out to be invalid arguments, logical fallacies).
And the statement "You're either with us or against us" is a False Dilemma (another logical fallacy). There are, believe it or not, shades of gray in the world.
How about we take this sort of strategy and attack the right?
e.g. You're either for civil rights or you're against them. The Republicans are showing once again that failure is the only way to get ahead in the world. You're either for pay-as-you-go or you're for massive budget shortfalls...
While some of these arguments may not actually be false dilemmas and I can't think of an effective straw man argument at the moment, you might get the gist.
