Gravatar The democratic party has always been the party of the individual and choices. We're all about insuring that every person have the right to make their own decisions, whether it be about abortion, religion, marriage, education, or life-style. How about we're the party of FREEDOM. The freedom to make your own decisions, your own choices? We're not the party of the Borg (a collective thinking with one centralized brain).
I can however see the attraction to being a part of the 'Borg'. You don't have to think for yourself. You don't have to make choices, or decisions and act upon them. You can sit back be a couch potato (engage in your endless pursuit of the almighty dollar) and let someone else do the thinking for you.
I've come to the conclusion that the majority of the people in this country have joined up with the 'Borg' mentatlity because they're lazy, unconcerned, and selfish. They have no concept of the 'big' picture.
So here's my suggestion for a bumper sticker...
Leave the Borg
Join the party of self-actualization.
We're a reality based community.

Gravatar I like the notion of being the party of Freedom. It's patriotic, short, and easily remembered.

Someone over at dkos suggested an education bumper sticker that made me laugh out loud. It said:

"He can't pronounce nuclear but we're using his education plan?"

Gravatar While I think that one important part of liberalism is negative liberty (the freedom from government interference; pretty much the libertarian stance), there is also the important component of positive liberty (the possiblity of acting; the ability of self-determination, self-legislation and self-regulation). I know it's not particularly useful to put all of that on a bumpersticker, and I know this all may seem academic to you, but I think it is sort of relevant.

You could, of course, attempt to condense all of this academic crap to a bumper sticker. It might be something like, "Freedom to Live." That doesn't have the negative connotations of death, but at the same time it doesn't mandate life. It merely offers the freedom to have it.

Gravatar I think I may have posted that last comment on a random wrong blog entry. But I have a feeling Kissfan is used to that sort of thing.

Gravatar How about "Rarely is the question asked, is our President learning?"
