Gravatar Oh, kissfan, you put that so well... a 'war on inclusiveness'. That's exactly right.

Gravatar Christmas isn't really about Christ now anyway, it's a celebration of Mammon, the acquisition of material things. Show your significant other how much you care by refinancing your house to buy them jewelry. Impress visiting relatives with new furniture. Whip up that holiday (which actually means Holy day)feast on new kitchen appliances. Drive to your relatives in a new car. buy more and better presents at our store because our prices are so low. I'm sure Bill O'Reilly won't be going to church on that day, if he attends church at all.

Gravatar You're exactly right lew. It's all about the bling.

Gravatar You know Lew...have you ever considered that the overcomercialization of Christmas just may be a result of the slow erosion of faith expressions being barred from the public square? Think of the message that that attitude conveys: "religion isn't important"; it's the arena of a few fanatics, and the "government bars public expression to make it "fair""
I'm not a Christian, but seeing a manger scene never offended me or made me feel slighted in any way, just as Hanukkah Menorah displays never bothered me in the least.

I don't particulary care what greeting that anyone uses, but it's the minority trying to impose their will on the majority through AJUDICATION and codefication of law in this little tiff about inconsequentials. That sure sounds like a war on faith to me...and I don't have a dog in the fight.

I have a great many Jewish friends, and not one that I have ever spoken to were offended by being told "Merry Christmas", just as I wasn't offended if they said "Happy Hanukkah" to me.

The fact that there are law suits over this matter is prima facia evidence of a PC culture war.
