Its fun to listen to you on your podcast. I have not been to your site in a long while. Good on ya.
However, I enjoy how you take everything out of context and twist it around and make it seem like something its not. Its funny to me that you still think tax cuts don't do good for this nation, in say spuring the economy. I like how you demand that people pay more because it makes you feel good. I guess all bussiness should check with you on how much profit they are allowed to make before they claim that profit.
As always libs are looking for ways to spend other peoples money. I hope your listeners take your monologe for what it is, a socialist op ed piece that would make the NYT proud.

Terrific come back. Tax cuts are good for the economy, min. wage increases are difficult for small business (some not all), you advocate for the redistribution of wealth through the use of the government under threat of incarceration, and I am a sheep? Certainly you can do better than that right?

Minimum wage hasn't gone up since 1997. Are you telling me that profits have remained the same since 1997? No, of course not. What about the cost of living? Same since 1997? Certainly not. I'm saying it's time to raise the minimum wage. When conservatives advocate for tax cuts they're saying they're good because people keep more of their money, right? Raising the minimum wage would put more money in people's pockets too. It's long overdue.
And that whole tax cuts b.s. is crap. I wrote about it here. I'm sure you'll disagree.

If you think that tax cuts don't stimulate the economy, you are simply not wanting to know the truth. You can lead a liberal to logic and proof but you can't make them understand.
Has the cost of living gone up and have profits gone up? Well yes and no. Yes the cost of living has increased. Profits have not automatically gone up. If I am a new small business, no my profits have not gone up. If I am a major corporation like Ford, have profits gone up? No they have gone down, thank you union auto workers. Are their instances where a business was making 7% profits and they now make 17%, sure, but is it the job of the government to come in and say you are required to pay this much to your employees because you know how to operate a successful business? No that would be socialism. One of the differences that you seem to be willingly ignoring is that taxes are taken on income already made, the death tax is a tax on income that has already been taxed, and thus it is 'old' income and being taxed for the second time. Because of the sum of the money, or the property involved, it doesn’t make it ok for a liberal to come and say it’s only moral to take more of it because I feel like it's the virtuous thing for you to do"
There is no lack of opportunity, or government entitlements, or charity in this nation that liberals can stand on to say I don't pay enough taxes, or enough in wages. Minimum wages increases only serve to hurt the middle class, as they are the ones who are almost always affected by these increases.
If you feel you are morally required to pay more to make your "fair share" then by all means you send your check to the IRS, but you don't have the right to tell your neighbor to pay more because you think its the moral thing for him to do, whether he owns a burger joint or has a thousand employees in an office building.

Simple facts - Minimum wage was raised to 5.15/hr in 1997. Adjusted for inflation that's 3.75/hr now.
There are over 1.8 million people working at or below minimum wage according to the BLS. Almost half of them are over the age of 25. Almost half of those people are women who are unmarried. Almost half of them work 35 hrs or more per week.
The minimum wage worker who works 40 hrs/week makes only 10,700 per year. If they are supporting anyone besides themselves, they are woefully below the poverty line. Supporting only themselves, they are barely above it.
The estate tax covers unrealized capital gains taxes. If I bought land for $5,000 and sold it for $50,000 years later, I would pay taxes on the profits. Eliminating the estate tax would allow that land to be passed on from one generation to the next accumulating wealth without ever paying any taxes on the capital gains. That is the reason for the tax. But maybe you're okay with the rich getting richer while they avoid paying taxes.
The numbers are all right there for you to see. Why don't you give me some numbers that show where I'm wrong? They'd be more believable than just you saying so.

1.8 million divided by half = 900,000. 900,000 divided by half = 450,000. 450,000 divided by half = 225,000.
How many small business do you think will be adversly affected by the raising of the minmum wage? I would confidently venture to say it's a lot more than 250,000.
Unrealized capitol gaines? Are you serious? Then why don't you tax property every time it goes up at some artifical increment? Every time a piece of real property (land, cars, boats, planes, art, what ever it may be) increases in value by an amount of 5 or 10 thousand dollars, an unrealized tax should be paid on that value. Then just think as one year a home is valued at 1 million dollars, its taxed, goes up to 1,050,000 the next year it could be taxed again, and then a fall in values takes place, as it builds up value again it could be taxed again. PERMANENT REVENUE for libs to spend at their lesiure on their pet programs like building monument to Robert 'kkk' Byrd. Afterall its all just unrealized revenue. The owner can borrow against the property right?
Never mind the fact that tax has already been paid on the property, and any interest income generated from the property is taxed. When does enough become enough. If we can tax the 'rich' on a piece of property, shouldn't then we also be able to tax you on a classic '58 Ford you restored and handed down to your son or grandson? How about that sail boat, or stamp collection? For that matter perhaps we should start taxing charitable donations. Since we can tax a gift from one family member to another, why not tax a gift from a person to a stranger, or a business?
KissFan, this isn't about numbers and tax returns to prove who is right here. This is an ideological arguement, and you have to decide whether I have the right to take your money from you? Who are you to tell your neighbor because his father or mother worked hard and earned a lot, he has to pay you to have it left to him in a will.
To put it plainly, the government, you, should not have the right to tax something twice when its given away, for any reason, let alone because you feel that there is money that has gone 'unrealized'.

But it is about numbers, Chris. It's all about numbers and you don't have any to prove mine wrong.
Look, if you want this to be an "ideological arguement," why not argue that all taxes should be abolished? Because this double taxation argument is a canard. Almost everything is double taxed. If you come to my store and buy $500 worth of merchandise, you would be taxed on your purchase. In fact, you'd be taxed twice - once by the local sales tax and again by the state sales tax. Then, I would be taxed, twice, on the money that you just paid me - once for the state income tax and again for the federal income tax. So in essence, that $500 was just taxed four times, right? Why don't I hear conservatives whining about that?
Look, unrealized capital gains are real. Try selling a house for more than what you paid for it. Unless you buy a more expensive house within the fiscal year, you're going to pay capital gains taxes. It's no different with an estate. If the value of what you have has appreciated from the time you purchased it, you're going to pay taxes on it. It shouldn't be any different if your trying to pass it on. After all, it's just like income to the person inheriting it.
You're still not giving me anything to refute the minimum wage issue. "Ventur[ing] to say" is the same as guessing. And so what if it's only 225,000? Are those 225,000 single mothers and their children just shit out of luck? What happened to compassionate conservatism?
