I was there, on Place du Luxembourg, and this was quite a depressing experience indeed. Report of what I witnessed can be found on my blog (both in French and English): http://tinylink.com/?zNny8MBLfS

Thanks, I added it to this blog.

Excellent article. The best I've read on the matter.

Muslims don't care about our European values. They take advantage of us being handicapped by those self established restrictions, but don't feel any obligaiton to follow the same rules.

It's like trying to play by the rules of chess, while the other party is following the rules of boxing.

I have been travelling a lot in Western Europe recently, and what I see makes me sad. I don't think the European valueset will prevail. There will be a few small enclaves in the end of the day, where the wealthiest of us will enjoy good ol' way of life. Europe, which for me is an institution of certain values, will cease to exist in coming decades.

Brussels, for instance, is not an European city anymore. It's not polite, it's not nice and good looking. It's not friendly nor does it smell of thick culture layer. I don't know if locals have succeeded to notice it, but it's a Marocco city now.

Why am I so pessimistic? Because it's obvious that the Western European contries have abandoned the principles of democracy and the governments are become a mechanism not dependent to citizens.

A good example of this lack of democracy can be the very same Belgium itself. Flemish want to gain indipendence but they don't let them. Political correctness left aside, this is an occupation. A politically correct, democratic-looking... occupation.

I am afraid you're quite right...
