You bring up a good point. Leftists frequently use violence and intimidation from the attack on Hans Janmaat to the assassination of Pim Fortuyn to the brutal RAF murders in Germany. Despite this every government in Europe is constantly fighting against 'right-wing extremism'. The European commissioner even went so far as to say that 'far-rightists' like Vlaams Belang are a bigger threat to Europe than Islam. When was teh last time a conservative blew up a bus or murdered a politician?
Hans Janmaat was a great man. A man motivated by love of his country which none of politicos who rule the Netherlands and Europe today would understand. He was vilified for 'fear mongering' at the time and yet as in the case of Enoch Powell in Britain, history has proven him right.
If only we had listened.

what anti-Jewish criticism did Janmaat make in his time? Never heard of it in the time of the hate campaign by the media. Any quotes?
Mind you at the time I thought too that Janmaat WERE a bunch of Nazis. It was not until the Fortuyn wave in 2001 that I found out what had really gone on on a Fortuynist discussion board.
With regards to Ayaan I do not see why the Dutch tax payer should protect her. She moved to another nation, and the people there should protect her. The Netherlands is a territorial state. And she should not be here due to the fact that she lied and swindled her way into our country from the safety of Kenya. This woman is a fraud.
Enough is enough!
I do like her new line on Islam, though.

Snouck,
Wikipedia about Janmaat:
"He claims that Ernst Hirsch-Ballin, the Minister of Justice, should stepdown because he is Jewish"
And you can call Ayaan a swindler snouck. The Dutch government are the swindlers and real lyers.
she was just a young woman who did not wanted to be forced in a marriage with her old uncle. The Netherlands, with it's hypocritically imigration policy just happen to provide her her freedom. She was advices by the Dutch immigration officials to tell the story she did!
And please not the fact that she is one of those rare Muslim immigrants, who came over too our side. And what do we do? We allow every other Islamic radical to attack us, but we go after the only Islamic apostate we know of.
It's a big shame and you should be ashamed too.
BTW
She still is Dutch and a former parliamentary member who was unlawfully forces out of parliament by a minister abusing her powers.

I respect Ayaan and no one can deny that she is certainly one of the bravest women around. I agree with her in many respects but have disagreed with her in the the past especially over her attacks on Fortuyn and the Vlaams Belang.

Vryheid,
Well, I did not agree with her on everything either. But that is not the point, isn't it? We should guarantee the safety and freedom of expression of all Dutch people.
We shouldn't never lock people up, because there are others who want to kill them. We have to remove the violent and murderers of our society. Not the other way around.

I completely agree with you, except I wouldn't call Ayaan Dutch. She certainly has a right to speak her mind though with safety from leftist lunatics like Volkert or or Islamic lunatics.

I agree that giving a Dutch passport does not necessarily make people Dutch. But immigrants who make the successfully effort to share our language and embrace our values, those I like to call Dutch.
Thus I would certainly say, Ayaan Hirsi Ali is very Dutch. Much more Dutch than Somalian, or any other nationality. If she is not Dutch, no immigrant can ever become Dutch!

"Safety" of Kenya? Good grief, what were you thinking when you wrote that?!?

PST314:
Kenya is one of the most orderly and prosperous nations in Africa. There is no civil war there. If the state of order of Kenya would be reason to grant political asylum than Europe would have to allow nearly the whole population of Africa to migrate here.
Ayaan was safe and relatively prosperous in Kenya. No refugee of a civil war, let alone political persecution.
The latter was the original basis for asylum rights.
Finally, get off your high effing horse.
No regards,
Snouck

Snouck,
Kenya safe? For a woman? No tribal rulings? No honor killings? No forced marriages?
Come on Snouck, you're just pist off on Ayaan Hirsi Ali because we have such a idiotic immigration policies. But don't take it out on her, that’s not her fault but our own!
I do agree on stricter immigration policies. But I don’t blame immigrants for still trying to come, that’s just what people do. It’s us who should protect our property, country and enforce the law. Not them.
But then again, if their would be a practical way to keep the border open for immigrants like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, I would certainly support it. Because with people like her, we can win this war.
