I understand you're upset because korean drama is popular. i mean, sometimes i feel that hollywood is influencing koreans too much and stuff and i would like koreans to pay more attention to their own treasure at home (meaning our culture--drama, movies, traditional stuff..) but why not just enjoy it with everyone else at the moment and not just deny it? you only watched winter sonata, you might like other dramas. and winter sonata...it had feelings to it, believe me. maybe you didn't like it because it didn't go the way you wanted it to or the storyline was just too slow. but korean dramas and movies do show some unique relationships & characteristics, etc. and the actors are good-looking (and good at acting, like lee yung-ae and bae yong-joon.) you realize how much fun you're missing? |

am i the only one commenting...? |

J : only 1 is enough for me to feel it. |
I don't know why you hate Kdrama so much. I am a chinese too and I have no problem with Kdrama. Once I watched a Korean drama and i found it so boring. I always think that Kdrama is always the same thing. One of the character always die form cancer or natural cause. However that doesn't stop me from watching Kdrama. I didn't know what "jewel in the Palace" is about, but I heard a lot of people are watching it and has high rating so i rent two episodes. I found it really interesting and is very different from other Kdrama. Full of details and K history. I love it so please stop dissing other people culture because you are turning racist. By the way TVB is going to realease a Jdrama that is almost similar to "jewel in the Palace" so compare which one did better by that time BIAS!!! |
Firstly, I already wrote why I hate Kdramas, didn't you read? |
You know, you're 100% entitled to your opinion, but when someone resorts to TYPING IN ALL CAPS!!!!!! in up-sized, bold text (with different colors no less) it doesn't exactly create the impression of a well-reasoned argument being presented. Was someone really so annoying that it prompted this kind of response? You're lucky you aren't as prominent as Scott Kurtz; the few snarky comments here are nothing compared to the flood of hatemail he got after he went on a tirade about how "Matrix Revoutions Sucked Ass" on what's supposed to be the site for his online comic. (He removed that article from the rants page before too long). |
At last, someone with real comments! |
Try Full House if you dont like it take to me |
thanks for the suggestion and thank you for visiting my blog! |
hmmm nothing much to say, but i have to agree that GTO is very good... but general bashing of a whole culture of dramas aint that .. umm good.. i mean, atleast you could have compared more series with each other... its just like, ok now,, winter sonata represents kdrama and GTO represents jdramas... no fair... hehe |
[quote]....hehe GTO is one the best and hardly none can compare with it imho.. :D.... |
agree with GTO .. GTO is my favorite JDrama. |
Thank you for your suggestion. And thank you for visiting my blog. |
You're FAT. Get off the internet you loser and get a life. If I knew where you lived then I would give you a swift kick to the nads because of your ugly ass. |
Weird, really. Are you agreeing or are you not agreeing? |
I agree Jdramas are better than Kdramas, except maybe for Full House, which I really enjoyed. |
Yeah, I know. Somehow everyone likes Full House....but me...... |
oh shush, just because something is Japanese does not mean it's great. I have seen my fair share of both bad Jdramas and Kdramas, it all depends on the series. I have to say though, some of the bollywood stuff whomps em both. |
There are good and bad like anything. |
Wow...that must mean that you probably do not like much of anything buddy...I am so sorry for you! Does that mean that, let's say, you don't like the taste of a drink, then you do not like any other drink in existence? Or, if you do not like the way that chicken tasted one time, you do not eat chicken? It seems to me that you just do not like the hype about it, so therefore, you say you do not like ANY Korean dramas. Woew, you like Anime? A lot of people like Anime you know, then perhaps Anime sucks and should die as well...There is also bad Anime...so, you need to stop liking Anime right this second! |
Things I like, I like. |
srry i dont know how i exaclt came across this page but your blog attracted my attention, i wont judge you bc we all have our own opinions and i also believe winter sonata was so gay. - -;; |
...if u hate it,just keep it to urself. |
I find your logic a little strange. So you didn't get any 'feeling' from winter sonata. Fine, I don't blame you, I couldn't even get through the first episode. But saying all korean tv is terrible just because you didn't like one series is like saying all mexican food is terrible because you had a bad experince at a taco bell. Or that you don't like rock because one david bowie song just didn't do it for you. It's just a little sad that you would so completely generalize an entire media genre based on one (or two if you count autumn's tale- i think they were both created by the same person, by the way) tired melodrama. I admit, a lot of korean dramas are painfully repetitive, but I also greatly admire their ability to make the same stories new time and time again. What I like is that they really focus more on characters than storylines, and there's usually far greater developement that way. Characters are what make a good story in the first place. And while I love jdramas, they're often more restrained than kdramas, and are therefore less satisfying. Oh, and for the record, kdrama soundtracks are amazing. I've watched tons of jdrama, but most of the music featured is jpop. I've heard an incredible range of music in kdramas. |
you know instead of insulting people who like korean dramas or japanese dramas or the actual drama itself may you should watch other dramas. I mean like i didnt like winter sonata but i still like other dramas. I dont like watching dramas because of hot guys i just like it. Like seriously since you stopped watching korean dramas right after watching the two mentioned above then you actually have no real insight on dramas and you shouldn't criticize them. you shouldn't criticize on things that you don't know much about. |
I don't need to watch anymore, as many people that watched more kdramas than me told me about kdramas. And the conclusion is the same as what I have said. Don't need for me to repeat it here. |
Every single jdrama ive seen are good, but wen i start watching kdramas.....its like O.O what are they talkin about, i dnt get it....Da only movies i like (kdrama) is attack on the pin-up boys, Goong and full house. |
So u guys r sayin if ur chinese u have 2 watch chinese movie......So r u Korean? Can only Korean people watch kdramas.............Answer Me!!!!! |
Hopefully one day you will read my reply: |
Hi, I just read your post about Jdramas beating Kdramas in substance. I admit that I prefer the Japanese style of making drama series but there are some good Kdramas out there as well. Some people would really kill for their favorite Kdramas, hence the violent reactions to your entry. It also has to do with culture, I guess. |
Another thing about Kdramas is that it is long winded like Taiwan drama and Hong Kong Drama........ too many unnecessary storylines..... |
