Gravatar For better or worse, many states consider public university funding one of the few, large discretionary spending categories. This tends to create more funding volatility year to year, which is a real problem.

The issue of university spending efficiency is way beyond the scope of this post. However, I am sure that some cutbacks are feasible without ending civilization as we know it.

The issue of tuition subsidies should also be considered. Most states make a public policy decision to hold in-state tuition fees well below the actual costs of instruction. Personally, I think public university in-state tuition should be higher (and I have a daughter in college).

Gravatar Here in Marlton as with many other school districts we are paying too much.
Exaple grade schools here are divided up into areas red, green, blue etc so they can have a principle for each color and a vice principle
