Hey, Chesley, are we allowed get gauge before the pattern release on Feb. 1? And how about going underground to avoid being killed?
I'm the one with the FedEx supplies, just in case I have to ship - have my online account ready and everything. I hope I get the chance to ship a pair or two before I get my pair!

Glad to see I'm not the only bloodthirsty sort...I can hardly wait for the battle to begin!
On a separate note, I highly recommend The Knitter's Book of Yarn--it's FABULOUS. A great resource, and an interesting read. My next project (after the sock battle) is the wrap cardigan.
Happy knitting, all!

Hi Terri - good question on the gauge. Stay tuned. There is likely to be an information leak soon to help with battle prep.

Hey, Jennifer,
Lisa and I priced airfare to Maine today just in case we get a Maine target/victim. Now THAT'S competitive!!! But then again, DRIVING up there would give us more time to knit - like 12 hours each! Since we probably won't sleep any until our first pair is finished and delivered, why would we add any sleeping time into the equation? But then again, we could probably get another battler or two to join us on the trip. The best perk of this plan is that we are unfindable during the journey.....

Terri,
Yikes...I think I may have met my match! I can see that you ladies are in to win, too...it should be a fun time!
I should warn you that the airport you'd fly into in Maine is a client of mine, so apologies in advance if you find yourself "detained" for hours (days?) by Security : )
Cheers!

Ahah, Jennifer - driving may be the only way in, eh? But what if we fly into some obscure place near there, hmmmmm???
We will be having fun...I'm preparing already - sleeping less, abandoning the family, neglecting pets, etc. Also laying in the caffeine! Take care.
Tee-hee.

I repeat, Terrrrrriiiiiii (whining voice). Quit giving up all our secret plans.
Jennifer, we have all agreed to not tell who our target is at first, so I told Terri that it might even be funnier to be driving or flying to Maine and turn around to the person sitting next to me, hand them a sock, and say "you're dead". They all then informed me that they didn't want to be in a car with me for 24 hours. That's when the flying came into effect. Wussies.
I noticed you all stopped posting on Ravelry about your "war party"....chickens....we are just waiting for a leak so the shots can just keep on comin that night (tequila, rattlesnakes, what's the shot of choice in your group?).

Lisa,
I like the way you think...you should definitely come to Maine, as I think we would get along splendidly (though everyone else might run for their lives!)
(PS--Um, Chesley, please don't make me Lisa's target. I'm afraid she's going to show up at my house in the middle of the night to kill me off!)

All targeting is random -sorry. Part of the game is coping with the fear...

Be afraid, be very afraid. I've already told everyone around here that if their doorbell rings in the middle of the night...they better answer it (because otherwise I might be very concerned that they were ill or something and have to call the fire department and the police department to break the door down...because I might be concerned about their health or something you know).
Jennifer, we need to talk (if my targets are in Maine and if yours are here...I don't know...I maybe smell a (whatever that word is that they use on Survivor when some bond together to gang up against others...menopause sucks...can't remember words sometimes).

Funny that you mention Survivor. Peter and I were thinking there must be a way to making a knitter's version.

Lisa,
Sounds like a plan to me! Our combined evil minds would certainly be a force to be reckoned with! Muwahahaha.

Everyone around here's acting like there was this competitive Lisa-twin that they've never seen coming out (duh, maybe the fact that I close the store for football games was a tip). Giving them a force to be reckoned with would be sooooo fun. Terri, on the other hand, is a force to be reckoned with...learn something new about that one every day, but don't worry...I'll get her secrets out of her. I have a few tricks up my sleeve (or is it up the cuff of my sock?). YaaaaHaaaaaaHaaaaaaa
