School has been out for the past three days here in Missouri - I say the bus drivers are wimps and need to GET THESE KIDS OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW! I miss knitting feverishly for the War cause. Can't wait to see who remains the lone last battler!

School's out here in Maine today, too. Being in sock heaven I have lost track of real time but am anxious for more kills so I can see what all you creative people have been knitting. Being snowed in today I hope to finish (for myself) the socks I started with the misread pattern. I think it really was a Freudian slip- did Freud knit? What an easy way to get two pairs of socks from the game!
Hey, Jennifer, how you doing with those socks? You wishing for a quick death?

Deb,
Believe it or not...I'm already done (though I did want to stab myself with a DPN more than once...I think Christine nearly killed me from beyond the grave!) They're on their way to the next unsuspecting victim as we speak....muwahahahaha.
This weather is the pits...I wish I could have stayed home and knit all day (I may as well have--I think I've had 2 phone calls all day, so no one would even have missed me!)
Take care ladies...drive safe and stay warm!

I just thought of another reason that you guys should be glad that I didn't participate in the Sock War. I am probably the only one who knits backwards. Anyone who assasinated me while I had a partially finished sock would have had issues trying to finish the sock. While I can knit in either direction, and would not have had a problem finishing one or y'all's socks.

Anyone else having trouble seeing the pictures? I can't see them . . . and I want to see how the socks turned out! Especially since what I sent Esta wasn't even 1/4 of a whole sock . . . I am totally amazed that she has finished another pair already. Look out targets of Esta! But at least you get cool socks!

You are too kind! But it's an addiction. My husband says I'm a sockaholic. Hope you can see the photos, I had fun adding to your patriotic beginning. And that chocolate peanutbutter chex mix, it shoudl be illegal it's so yummy. Thanks for sending it.

Go Jennifer, you definitely are in the game if I have a say. How many socks have you finished? It would be fun to keep a running tally of who has knit on the most pair!
Esta? How about you? Is sounds like you might be up there.
Whoever is creating prizes these days----That could be a prize.
I do wonder what I will do for entertainment when this game if finished. Maybe a blog with all of our continuing projects?

hi all,
Sorry for the picture glitch. Something went wrong uploading them to our server. Peter got it fixed. More deaths to report later today.

Deb--thanks for the encouragement! I have so far sent out 2 pairs of killer socks...hopefully I'll have a chance to do a few more before my own killer tracks me down!
This has been a fun diversion from this ugly weather!

I've only knit on two. Patiently awaiting my next pair to arrive and praying they get here before I get killed. I so agree with you on what to do for entertainment after this, it's been so much fun - even from the anex in MA.

This is the first thing I read in the morning. I still alive and going away for the weekend!
I am soooooo scared, that every night when I get home I peek in the side window to see if there is a box. Last night the was a package in the door, and I thought this is it I am a goner, but it was just a Valentine delivery for my girls.
I am still amazed that I am still here, the pair of sock I took my victim out with was only the second pair I ever knitted.

Hey Jennifer,
Sorry about those socks...the bamboo yarn *seemed* like a good idea at the time, but the execution was...well, being *executed* by Liz was preferable to finishing the %^* things! Do you still have my needles? I'm in no rush to get them back, just trying to figure out where they ended up.
I am still dealing with lingering pinkie numbness...probably not helped by the fact that I've been knitting daily since I got knocked out of the game.

Christine...
No, there were no needles in the package I received (I just double checked to make sure I hadn't missed them). I suspect Liz may have held onto them, as I don't think Deb or Terri had the socks in their possession for very long.
The bamboo yarn wasn't my challenge (I loved the color, btw)...it was picking up the ribbing at the top. Anyway...fortunately for me in this case, I am a terrible sleeper (and very stubborn!) so I stayed up late and worked through it. Our poor "victim" has no idea what she's in for...hehehe.
My hands were numb for 2 days after the first pair of killer socks, so I was glad I only had to finish one in this latest round!

Christine,
Liz dropped the needles off at the shop. We have them and will keep them safe until you can stop by.

Ooooh now I can see them! They came out great! Nice finishing Esta! They really are pretty patriotic. =-)
Glad you enjoyed the chex mix. It was the least I could do since I sent you so much work . . .
=-)

Christine,
The bamboo yarn was great. When I opened the package I thought "I want these socks"! I was a little thrown off by the crochet cast on though. I'd never seen it before. It is fun to see techniques others use. I was disappointed to be on the other side of the game so soon only because I don't get to see the great work everyone is doing! I laughed at the numb fingers. One of the "stupid" poems I wrote to pass to my assasin while waiting for the game to start was:
My fingers are numb
My thumbs are too
I'm glad to pass
These socks to you.
Please, Keep the pictures coming everyone.
I can't wait to see those patriotic socks. I had designed several versions in prep for the game but gave them up when I saw the pattern.

Deb/Christine--that cast-on threw me for a loop, too!! But, being the determined and/or stubborn knitter that I am, I figured it out (with a wee bit of cursing!). I imagined an evil laugh from Deb and Terri for passing those along to me!! But I agree with Deb--it's fun to see what other people are doing (and very affirming to see I'm not the only one who's obsessed with this game
