Gravatar Yay Caitlin! Congrats!

And congratulations as well to all of my fellow players. I was certainly impressed with everyone's speed, determination, creativity and the sportsmanship throughout this competition.

Gravatar Congratulations!

Gravatar Congratulations Caitlin! It was a fun competition. Thanks Chesley, Peter, Becca, Amy, and Scott. And the Rogue Knitter too. A trap is being set for the RK . . . . .

Gravatar Congratulations, Caitlin! I am honored to have been one of your many victims....somehow it makes losing less painful to know that I was felled by the Champion of the Sock Battle (not to mention, my toes have been very happy thanks to the killer socks you sent!)

Thanks Chesley and accomplices...it's been a fun way to get through this ugly Maine winter that doesn't seem to want to end!

Gravatar Congratulations Caitlin!!

Gravatar Congratulations to Caitlin!

Gravatar Way to go Caitlin.

Gravatar YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to thank all the people who made this victory possible: Lisa at OCM for being my yarn supplier, cheerleader, and let's not forget first victim...Terri for being the computer wizard who made sure we got our patterns at 11:00 sharp on the battle's first night...Chesley for organizing this fantastic game(and continuing to manage things from beyond the grave!)...those lovely people at Hersheys chocolate--without plenty of Special Dark I would have surely died sooner...all the people who started socks that I finished along the way (after all not every pair was started over and finished in one day!!!)...I'm sure I'm forgetting some other stuff, but I'll close with this:
When does the next battle start? THAT WAS FUN!!!!!

Gravatar Congratulations Caitlin! And well done everyone! This was fun to watch. =-)

Gravatar Bravo!

Gravatar Congratulations Caitlin! My feet are finally warm and toasty! Thank you for the beautiful job on my socks.!
I may have lost, but my feet certainly won!

Gravatar Congratulations Caitlin! Your socks passed through my hands along the way, but I was already dead.

Thank you Chesley, Peter, Amy, Scott and Fellow Battlers! This has been a lot of fun. I look forward to doing it again.

Gravatar Not surprised a bit - I have been lucky enough to have seen Caitlin knit some of the beautiful (mostly) socks that helped support USPS and warm many toes. You are my Sock Star for sure - I'm privileged to know ye. Can't wait to see you and give you the high five Victory Slap.

Gravatar Bravo, Bravo!!!! I only wish I could have participated directly.

Gravatar Caitlin -
I'm so proud...proud to have watched you knit and learn your "method by yourself", proud to be your first victim, proud to watch your poise and determination when you had to start that pair from scratch, and just proud to know you. You make us smile. We've all got a lot to learn from you!

Gravatar Red rover red rover
The sock war is over
Many knitters have died;
Are now pushing clover.

Our leader, Fair Chesney
Got us all organized
To knit Amy’s pattern
And work our demise.

The frenzy began
During nights on the town
Little did we know
We were all going down.

Progress was made
In the form of knitters’ deaths
Then a few lucky ones
Remained to take breath.

The states were divided
With one player each
The fury was over
When the last one was beached.

Pam fell to the needles
Of one lone survivor
Caitlin prevailed for Missouri
And was the last stake driver.

We all have fond memories
Of our first little war
May we all rest in peace
For the next battle corps.

Gravatar Terri

That's a fantastic poem. I have to say this war has shown me an amazing group of increadibly creative people. It was an honor to to battle with all of you.

Chesley, I hope you will organize another battle in the future, it's really a blast!

Gravatar Sorry - I put Chesney in the poem and meant Chesley. But I know many of you KEC patrons helped tremendously. It was fun, I agree!
