My argument exactly, if it's just a mass of cells, why is everyone so bothered about what happens to it & what chemicals are harmful to it?
Also, what are premies born in an "abortable" stage of development?

The closest answer to #1 that I'd expect from lib friends: but it's *chemicals*! Love Canal! (pardon pun) The *environment*!! Global *warming*!!! Bush's fault! Baaad!!!! (Totally ignoring the main point, of course, while elevating nature onto a plane of sanctity well above people.)

Flipping your thoughts around though, if you're concerned about the unborn, then why aren't you worried about pollution's harmful affects, not to mention the bills and pollution we're leaving as a legacy for the unborn?

Re. Dan's last comment: I am.
We disagree on the best mechanism to get there.
Highly recommended reading: http://aconstrainedvision.blogspot.com and the book that inspired it by Thomas Sowell.... brilliant description of the apparent disagreement we're having and why it's not new.
