you and yours are in my prayers. A friend of mine had a butterfly story which "foretold" her pregnancy -- the one which was impossible as far as the drs were concerned.

I am just blown away by the tenderness that God showed your brother through his daughter. Our God is tender, and merciful and all-healing. You, your brother and your families are in my prayers.

I'll sure be praying for your brother. I'm so very sorry he has to deal with this, and that all of you do, too. But it is comforting that he is surrounded by love, the greatest inner healer of all. BTW-the name of your blog-remember the purpose of that test? But then, I liked Kirk's solution the best. He didn't believe in the no-win scenario.

I've hiked over here from the Anchoress' site. I wanted to let you know I'll pray for your brother, and I've sent his situation and name to my email-prayer-circle so that they can hold him up, too.
Oh, how lovely it would be to have a miracle happen here. Tell your brother to imagine a great multitude of butterflies rising high on his behalf, the prayers of online people moved by his situation.
Lord, hear our prayers.

We pray in earnest for you!
As St. Mother said: "I cannot do great things, but only small things with GREAT LOVE!"
You have found Jesus in the small things with GREAT LOVE!
We pray for a miracle.
But, do not fear death, "I am with you always, until the end of the age."

My heart goes out to you. As painful as this is to you and to your family right now, please know that God will give you the strength you need.
Surrender your pain to Him and unite it with His. Trust in the power of His love to see you through this.
I will be praying for you, your brother and your family.
Mother Mary, wrap him in the blanket of love that you wrapped your Son in. Help him to keep his eyes fixed always on your Son.
Lord, show Him your radiance and splendor, as you did to the disciples at the Transfiguration. Fill his heart, mind, and body with the peace of Your presence and the joy of your love.
Pope John Paul II, I ask for your intercession in the healing of this young man diagnosed with leukemia and pray for peace and healing for his brother and for all his family members.
Mary, Queen of peace, pray for us.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for us.
Mary, health of the sick, pray for us.

My husband died young of cancer. It was hard, but we experienced a lot of God's love. Remember the scripture: "cast all your cares on Him for he cares for you?" Well, I couldn't help casting my cares on Him -- they were too heavy to hang onto -- and I sat back and watched how Jesus cared for me. May God show his love to you and your family.

I only share my butterfly story to help. After my mother died suddenly at 48 (only 11 years older than I am now), I began to notice the butterflies. In my therapists office, one came and rested on the windowsill. Every Wednesday at 2:30, until 3:30. The therapist said that it never came at other times.
Butterflies. From ugly caterpillars. I hope there's a metaphor in there, but I don't know. Yet. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I was sent over here from Sister Toldjah's. I'm so, so sorry. But it's good to see that you haven't given up hope.
Your post touched on some things that C.S. Lewis observed in the days after he lost his wife, Joy...the idea that a tragedy like this can be a way of shaping us, we who are left behind, into creatures more Christ-like, more attuned to the suffering of others. But it is often a brutal business.
Be thankful for the moments you have with him. When I was twelve, my grandfather developed leukemia, went into the hospital, and I never saw him again. Perhaps I should be thankful, because my only memories of him are of the vigorous, ruddy-faced, jovial Michigan farmer that he was. But I've often wished I'd had the chance to say goodbye.
My prayers are with you, your brother, and your families.
