It's pretty amazing what God can do, isn't it?
Now comes the really hard part. Living. Day to day, with a part of you not there when you reach for it.
Knowing that things will not return to normal but that eventually there will be a new normal, a new balance, and someday even laughter and joy.

Thanks for being so honest about your fears about delivering the eulogy (I had a similar fear before speaking at my father's funeral - somehow, I got through it); the thing is, if you had broken down or lost your composure during the eulogy, that would have been OK, too.

Wonderful, beautiful, uplifting words, Koba. People sometimes don't believe that you can, in the midst of death, find life - in the midst of sadness, find joy - in the midst of exquisite pain, find enormous consolation...but it is the promise of our Christian faith, and God is faithful to it, if we let Him be. God bless all of you. The next few months may be rough. Let them be. And let Christ console you...

Well done.
Language is an amazing gift. It is true that words can kill. It is also true that words can give life- eternal life, even.
Well done. Your contribution to eternal life has been noted.

On the one hand, I feel sorry for you. On the other, realize that, it doesn't sound as though he went too slow, so that all will remember him not as what the disease did to him, but instead as the man he was.
And your blog is aptly named. You are showing how you respond to the no-win situation -- with faith and kindness and a recognition that there are certainly times when we don't know the reasons for the causes but still have to live with the results.
Sooner or later, it will all be our times. God grant us all the capacity to face it with strength and dignity.

A beautiful summation of life for a very sad occasion. I'm sure it meant a great deal to those with you.
Keep hanging tough, and we'll be with you all in prayer.
