Nicely said KM. Just like the memo from Rush said it. And I liked the part where Drudge obviously coached you. It's great to be a part of the conspiracy with you guys. Gotta run and cash a check from Mr. Big. Ta-ta.

Braak Tax Cuts
Braak Budget Cuts
I forgot the rest of the talking points I was just given by Carl Rove, I'll have to get back to you, soon.

"What makes conservative blogs more effective is that many of us have been Democrats. We've held liberal positions"
So does that mean that those of us on the left who HAVE made the opposite trek more effective?
I know that I say this a lot, but most of my progressive friends are recovering fundies of one shade or another. We have been there/done that/ain't going back again.

Dan, that's EXACTLY what makes you a more effective advocate of your point of view. You've seen the arguments from the right side and found them wanting.
I'd wager that when you have a political discussion with someone from the right and you argue your point, you don't sound like the comment thread at The Daily Kos.
Yeah, that DOES make you effective. Keep us wing-nuts honest, OK? We'll do the same for you.

Well, since the only reason I can imagine for making that trek is senile dementia, this may not hold true for you and your friends, Dan.
If, however, there actually ARE some bizarro rational reasons available for making the switch in that direction, then, yeah, what you suggest WOULD hold true.
I find it most interesting that you cannot separate "fundies" from "those who don't hold leftist views"... to you they are one and the same, when, in fact, there are a hell of a lot of people who are either conservative or libertarian who don't hold to strongly overt religious principles, myself and many of my conservative/libertarian friends among them... and even the strongly religious ones would generally not classify as a "fundie" (that's likely to be selection bias, though -- I generally wouldn't hang with someone who was deeply obsessed with religion in their life such that they felt the need to convert me to living my life by their religious principles)
Wait, where did all the above come from?!?!
I wasn't fed that by Rush!?!?
How can I be expressing original thoughts?!
Oh, no, something is terribly wrong in the leftist firmament !?!?

I didn't say all those to the right of me were fundies. I said many of my friends and I are recovering fundies. And that was a stretch of the term. We're recovering Southern Baptists, or Catholics, some of whose backgrounds were a bit fundamentalists, but mostly just conservative.
There are, of course, as wide a range of conservatives as there is of liberals. Some small minority of which fits the stereotypes lobbed at us by these Right-ish blogs, but not most, I'd suggest.
