Be nice!

Gravatar KB: Go with God. I love Sowell, by the way. If you find yourself in Oklahoma City on your way back from New Mexico, hungry and thirsty, call 405 --- ----.

Isaiah rocks!

Gravatar Hmmm...don't have a map handy. If you get this before your leave (then you really have an addiction and you need to put the computer down) and you happen to pass through Dulcie, stop in and say "Hi" to the postmistress, she's my cousin.

I'm jealous. We had been hoping to go out to NM ourselves, but things just didn't work out for a trip this year.

Stay safe.

Matt

Gravatar Regarding "Islam Unveiled," it actually is not the world's fastest growing religion. I once thought that the case, but statistics show that Pentecostal Christianity is actually growing the fastest.

Gravatar Jim Gilbert is correct, Pentecostal Christianity is the fastest growing, measured by percentages. Islam might be growing faster by sheer numbers, and there are more from the outset. However, Chrisitanity is generally growing faster than Islam. I saw a MEMRI piece about a year ago, in which some Moslem clerics were on a television talk show, discussing the rate of conversion from Islam to Christianity. That process would be faster, I suspect, if it were legal.
Your list did not include Jane Jacobs's Systems of Survival, but it may not be available as an audio book. Everyone else, who is stationary, ought to read it!
A good journey to you, and a safe return.

Gravatar Same deal if you're coming through CO. I'm right outside of Denver and have lots of room. I'll e you my number.

Gravatar Michael Adams: You're spot on. Some of my closest friends minister in depth in Iraq, from street level to prime minister's office. They have repeatedly been told that thousands of Iraqis want to convert, but fear for their lives if they do.

Gravatar > Not a bad selection for the library of a city that went 3:1 for John Kerry in the last election.

LOL,

Q: Why do you think they were all there?

A: No one ELSE was reading them!!!

BWAAAAAAAAhahahahahahahahahahahaaaa

Gravatar > Tomorrow I go off-grid for almost three weeks.

Hey! HEY!

You can't do this!!

You just got ON the grid after being off for three weeks!!!

Take care, have fun, drive, well, if not safe, then drive FUN. If it's your time to go, then well, at least enjoy the ride!

Oh, and if you are passing through Tennessee on the way there or back, be careful:

1) Them TN cops have some nasty speeding-trap tricks.
2) On Tennessee roads, if it says on the curve, "35 mph" -- it really IS a 35 mph curve.

Gravatar What's wrong with a good Dean Koontz or Stephan King novel?

Gravatar If it ever does come out on audio-tape, Reza Aslan's "No god but God" is an eloquent history of Islam and its compatability with democracy and modernity. Certainly not a cheerleading effort for Islam, but a stellar history that is very accessible and richly footnoted. Glad your trip was safe!

Gravatar You have some very thoughtful entries and links. I totally agree with the statement that the whole argument for other person to adapt and change themselves to suit one community is sad.
What also matters most is that most apologists and leftists point to "peaceful" period we are supposed to believe in, what they ignore though is the voilent agrression for centuries which preceded and cut off the nation states. India unforunately was the expansionist's dream in middle ages and suffered the most.
