I'm in love with this gadget! No, it won't take the place of a flesh-and-blood interpreter for some situations, but it'd be perfect for others. Really cool to see the actual device in action as opposed to a still picture. Thanks so much for the transcript, McConnell! I really appreciate not missing out on the dialogue that accompanies the video.

You're welcome, CE.
What many people do not know is that Jason Curry has had over 500 encounters with various professionals, clients and other people with his UbiDuo. All with successful results. Often times hearing people get blown away who think the UbiDuo is absolutely cool. And impressed them so much it has in fact strengthened many, many business connections (you'll see more about this later on) and deals.
The thing is this. Jason still relies on an interpreter from time to time when a situation warrants it, which is now rare. Just that using this UbiDuo actually sets the user apart from the rest of the deaf crowd. Why? Independence. People and employers like to see independence and pro-active actions.
And people complain upon thinking that carrying the UbiDuo around is such a hassle (only weighs like 5 or 6 pounds, lol) but many people do not realize that what Jason is carrying in his briefcase that holds his UbiDuo is a gold brick. It's really a matter on a return of investment here. And this UbiDuo *proves* that with it's unique communication device, it does help transcend that communication gap. None of that 3rd party stuff all the time. Or the snail pace pen and paper method. Imagine going that slow during an IM chat.

Good point about the IM chat. If a user was going to use his/her pager, it takes longer to type with thumbs than with a full size keyboard. And if a laptop was used, it takes time to boot up, and then you have to worry about battery life. I wouldn't want someone else to put their hands on my laptop, either.
