The older I get, the less thrilled I am with heights. I remember viewing the Grand Canyon when I was fifteen and loving the vastness of it, marveling at how deep it was.
Now, not so much. Being up high and peering over the side makes me queasy. What a wimp I've become!

The fuck?! No. Just, no.
I have enough trouble just getting myself to cross the foot bridge over Cooper to get to work. That took a lot of work to get there since, seriously, I used to get vertigo if I stared straight down at my feet.
I'm 6' tall! Six feet is really high up!
What?!

I'd love to live in a highrise. I think it's cool being way up there with a view. Whenever we stay in hotels I prefer a room on the higher floors.
The glass balcony, though? Pass.

It is a proven fact that as one ages, gravity gets stronger.

Somewhere between 18 and 45 I went from LOVING heights to being really dizzy with it. I think what killed it for me was one of those rides at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas.
I don't mind being in tall buildings at all. I just didn't particularly like DANGLING 1,000 feet over the Strip!

That thing is right over the building where Stephen used to work. The contractor cut off the electricity to the other buildings around it a time or two. I can't imagine having to spend 8 hours with all of that noise and vibration.

I've never been able to make it up the ladder to my own attic. Fact!

Hell, no. I couldn't do this. I certainly couldn't do the new observation deck at the Grand Canyon either.

I think I peed a little just looking at those pictures. Jebus fucking crisps! I'm still trying not to obsess over the fact that it looks like the glass balcony doesn't have a railing. . .
Where is the trigger warning Kona?? I thought this was a Chafe place. Fuckin-A!

The picture creates an optical illusion. It really looks like she's out on an exposed deck without any walls or railings but in fact the glass panels you see are around the outside of the glass deck. I stared at this thing for eons before my eyes adjusted to it.

I would totally love to lay down on my belly on this balcony, looking thousands of feet downward as the tower swayed in the wind.

Aw come on Kona, it's perfectly safe. I honestly can't wait to get up there and do what that girl is doing.
