Ah, the joys of knobs.
(on stereo equipment, I mean)
I had, until a storm year before last, a Pioneer receiver that my dad bought way back in the 70's. That fucker was awesome, but no match for a lightning strike to my TV antenna (which was hooked to the receiver also for FM reception). I still miss that big ole volume knob.
Of course, pretty much anything sounds good in a 200 sqft living space, with built in benches (aka resonance chambers) that the speakers sit on. The kittehs don't like it much when I crank the volume, but ... fuck 'em!

We musically torment our kitties. It was only last night that txrad dragged out his Minstrel Boy-inspired squeeze box.
I had to put that bad boy away this morning. (The accordion, not txrad.)
We were fortunate that the storm last Friday did not damage any of our electronics. Our next door neighbors were not so lucky. Their desk top is fried and so it their router.
