What's wrong with making babies?
Consider the planetary condition.
I understand concerns about overpopulation. But the emotional/biological imperative to procreate can't be eradicated. It's as much a part of who we are as the need to have sex and move our bowels. And it can be exercised responsibly.
How about not judging those who choose not to have babies (I'm not saying anyone here does it). I'm saying that nature takes care of the biological desire - and I'm pretty sure she's responsible for my desire NOT to have kids. But everyone else seems to think this is a BIG FUCKING DEAL! that I am a selfish asshole for not having kids. Meh!
And one a second note - I am currently reading Plato's Republic and it strikes me so very painfully just how much shit really hasn't changed since 400 something BCE. Seriously. Ancient Athens could easily double as Modern America. That shit is just really disheartening.
I have absolutely no judgment whatsoever for people who don't want kids. It's a powerful need for some people and no need at all for others- we all create in different and important ways.
It's unfair that anyone would suggest that you're selfish for not wanting kids, if only because wanting children is not necessarily an unselfish thing. People have kids for all sorts of reasons- good, terrible, etc.
I think that judging the childless is as unfair as judging the childbearing.
This excepts those who birth prodigiously, neglecting modern medicine, and aren't good to their children. Those people suck.
We have different ideals.
I have modified this post to clarify my point about children which, after a bottle of wine and several tequila shots, wasn't very complete. 
Tart, I don't think Kona was suggesting people stop procreating. I think he was just saying that having a kid isn't something to be undertaken casually, like "Yay! Let's make a baby!" You should make sure you're mature enough first that you'll follow through on the responsibilities of raising that child. Also, ideally, that you're in a stable relationship and/or financial situation.
I'd grade this list out at around 90%. I see no need to eliminate freeways (although they should certainly be planned in such a way as to not screw up existing development) and there's no reason I can't take a cell call over a hands-free device while I'm driving. (Texting while you're driving is a whole other level of idiocy, of course.)

Unfortunately most people aren't using hands free devices. It just really creeps me out to see people in charge of 3,000 pounds of steel going 40, 50, 60 MPH and simply not paying attention.
And while freeways are convenient, they certainly have reduced everyone's view of America to one long generic stretch of gas stations, office parks, and big-box retailers.
I think it would be cool, given the time, to drive from coast to coast on back roads.
I agree with most of the points you make, don't know about the hands free devices though, might be better just to talk after one arrives at one's desitination. The world you described is utopian, here's hoping some day we get there.
My main problem with the content of this post is the idea of slowing down. I like living at the edge of my grip, always ready to fail at something important if I don't keep pushing myself. The intensity is exhilarating.
You forgot Universal Chocolate. It can't be perfect if everyone doesn't get free chocolate!
