Mask of Anarchy

Gravatar Korova, I haven't "spoken" to you in ages!

I must say that I disagree with your take on this. I watched the Gaza appeal on the Guardian website. Airing it would clearly breach the BBC's impartiality on what is a very contentious news story. The appeal is not presented in an impartial way - far from it. From the standpoint of objective news reporting, it is inflammatory. We all know the news isn't actually objective, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't strive for objectivity.

Gravatar Hi Anglofille, yes it has been a while, shame we have to disagree!

I do understand your perspective on this, and I can appreciate the position the BBC are in. However, given the situation is Gaza and the humanitarian disaster, the very least our media could do is spare a few minutes in their schedules to broadcast the appeal. Particularly given how the media has been happy to play along to Israel's tune throughout the crisis.
